Overview

The Neo 16AL is an ingenuously designed and manufactured thin client. Its solid steel body can handle the toughest environment, whether it is industrial or rural. Powered by the VIA C7-D green processor, it serves a variety of functions, delivering performance far in excess of a thin client. It is in fact a complete cloud computing desktop, bundled with both Firefox and Chrome web browsers, and plugins for PDF, Flash and Java. It features a media player that decodes MPEG-4 H.264 and other latest codecs, a complete office suite, videoconferencing, email and chat. Standard thin client protocols like RDP, ICA, X11 and VNC are of course supported, apart from newer protocols like NX, VMware View and SSH.

The Neo 16AL fits into both offices and educational institutions, replacing large, power-hungry PCs. The HDMI support enables high resolution applications such as digital signage.

Overview

 

World’s first and only x86 thin client integrated into an LCD monitor. Features industry lowest power consumption for an x86 thin client.

The U16M blends the low power SoC advantage of the M2 with the integrated (all-in-one) look of the U19V. This revolutionary product has been created with the philosophy that less is more. At 18W, it is the least power consuming desktop computer in the market. It also features the lowest size and weight for any desktop. The U16L is thus ideally suited for rural sites that depend on solar power. It also serves well as a portable computer lab that is moved from village to village in a small vehicle.

The U16M’s powerful x86 processor can seamlessly connect to Windows and Linux servers using the RDP, X11 and VNC protocols. Web based remote monitoring and management are bundled within the Linux based firmware of the thin client.

The U16M is a completely legacy free device. It is a true “zero client” – the thin client has been blended into a standard LCD display. It can easily be VESA mounted, freeing up valuable desk space.

    All of Thinvent’s thin clients have a web browser built in. Our Thinux Embedded Linux environment comes bundled with the latest Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox web browsers. It can also be preinstalled with the Opera and Internet Explorer web browsers.     Indian Railways has introduced Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) to reduce passengers queuing up at the ticket counters at Railway stations. ATVMs are touch screen based ticketing kiosks operated using Smart Cards. The passengers can purchase and recharge Smart Cards from ticket counters. The Smart Card has to be placed on a slot in the ATVM and user has to select the route and destination using the touch screen. After confirming the details ticket will be printed and delivered. Once the ticket is issued, charge will be automatically debited from the smart card. The interface and the enabling software include a graphic display of route maps as well as tri-lingual menu options. It is a cashless, convenient and a service available round the clock.

    2. Our most recent deployment was twenty Thin-Client based ATVMs in Thiruvananthapuram division in Kerela in 2013. Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor commissioned the two ATVMs, the first in the State, that are expected to reduce chaos prevailing near the railway booking office at Thampanoor in December 2012.

     The Product

    Thinvent’s Human Machine Interface (HMIs) are ruggedised computers meant to function on factory floors. These machines automate the process of tracking production processes including manufacturing, inventory management, flow of production directly from the factory floors. These sophisticated tablets are are energy efficient, rugged, cost optimized, tropicalised, and devoid of any moving parts.

     

    The Need

    The HMI devices allow the management to track the process of manufacturing. The computing device is usually accessorized with a tracking functionality like a barcode scanner attached to it. HMI can be mounted on the walls at several locations across the factory. The the application sends the tracked information, to the central server where the management can track the production progress, efficiency and production bottlenecks. This information is integrated into the SAP ERP backend of the customer, reducing manual entry of production information, and enabling BI reporting of production processes.

     

    The Features

    It comes with a 10.1″ sensitive touch screen interface. The LED screen screen delivers vibrant colors. It has a 1.6 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM and upto 32 GB of disk space. Wireless connectivity eliminates need to layout wires in already messy industrial environments. The machine runs on, Thinux, a stable embedded linux developed in-house for this device. The Thinux platform provides a stable environment to develop several industry specific applications.
    The advanced heat sink technology ensures a complete absence of moving parts. The device therefore has very little power requirement. It works on as low as 15 W of power, and in erratic power ranging from 90 to 240 V. The lack of moving parts also ensures low mechanical breakdowns, high heat and dust resistance, and longer durability. It provides ease of use, elegance and energy conservation.
